Ambercaast Chapter 20: Quests and Questions is Live!

Lapis and Faelan acquire the scantest of info from Cile, but fortunately Linz and Jetta show up with documents from Danaea’s stash that might have clues as to where the mercs took Rin and Tovi. Lapis refuses to wait any longer to find the kidnapped teens.

I also finished WorldEmber with 17K + words. Check out the articles here. There’s quite a few that relate to the Lapis of Nicodem serial.

Ambercaast Chapter 19 is Live!

Ambercaast Chapter 19: A Jaunty Forest Outing is Live! It’s not a “happy holiday” chapter, since Jilvayna is on a different festive schedule 🙂

Lapis volunteered to go with Cassa on her search for the terron lizard Badger and his advisors but did not expect to confront more khentauree. They find out Badger has agreed to help Gredy’s mercs, and what they’ve done will prompt Cassa and Lapis into more extreme actions concerning Ambercaast.

Ambercaast Chapter 18: Threats is Live!

Ambercaast Chapter 18: Threats is live!

Has the destroyed khentauree emitted a distress signal? Are more machines coming to retrieve it? Lapis spots glints in the distant mountains, just like the cyan reflection produced by the sphere in the destroyed khentauree’s chest–and they’re headed towards the Mawai science station. The community needs to prepare, but a threat other than the khentauree looms. Gredy’s embarrassed rage causes him to threaten the terron population in the Depths–and now several members of the lizard community are missing.

**Fun fact: Khentauree is based off the Greek word for centuar, kéntauros.

Ambercaast Chapter 16: The First Foray is Live!

Check out Chapter 16 here.

Lapis and Rin rescue a woman named Cassa from mercs who are hunting the two large carrion lizards. She’s very insistent on finding the one in her charge, named Tovi, and Lapis and her companions end up exposed to the Ambercaast ruins before plans are laid to enter them. The unexpected awaits.

The Glass Volcano is also out and available in Kindle format.

Ambercaast Chapter 15: Cooperation? is Live!

Ambercaast Chapter 15: Cooperation? is Live!.

Patch decides the Black Hats can get them to Ambercaast faster than traditional research methods. Lapis is pissed, but has no choice but to go along. Their detention is short-lived; her estranged uncle confronts the mercenaries, and with an offer of cooperation. Lapis joins the preparations for an infiltration of Ambercaast–but not everything is as it seems.

Also check out The Glass Volcano: The Wellspring Dragons Book 3. It’s live on Kindle on October 30th.

The Glass Volcano. The Black-shine Mountain. Jo khade maja. Vedellesse Sava. All refer to the lair of Kykini Cede, Flame Dragon of Kassak. Shiobe and Sikode have arrived at the mythic Seari monument, their goal to find a way inside, defeat dragon-created trials, and reach the Flame Stone, the artifact of the legendary beast. Sikode has dedicated his life to defeating the magickal challenge held within the object and becoming a dragonmaster, the first in a thousand years. Shiobe, with her historical knowledge of the volcano, vows to help him succeed.

Luckily, a local climber, Ceten, knows about a secret entrance and will lead them inside the mountain. Unluckily, complications arise to make traversing the already dangerous lair more difficult. Kitta and Rien, Shiobe’s ex-friends from the Soline royal court, vie for the stone. They believe it is an ancient, abandoned dragonpriest artifact that will help them protect their country from a potential Illenan invasion. Following in their wake are bloodmages who want to capture Shiobe. She still possesses the sylf-blessed river rock she stole from them, and they want it back, at any cost.

Shiobe realizes the bloodmages will hound her until they attain their prize and return it to its purpose of magickally imprisoning the butterfly sylfaone she stumbled upon in the twilight mists. Their success seems guaranteed because of the personal involvement of their deity. She and Sikode believe a dragon fighting with them will overcome the bloodsylf’s touch and help them eradicate the bloodmage threat. They just have to reach the Flame Stone first.

You can check out Blood’s Stone at World Anvil for a bit of background for The Glass Volcano. It’s also a good Halloween read!

And the newest addition to the Lapis of Nicodem world, Fools and Ghouls Day.

Yeah, I’ve had a busy October. And on to November, when I’ll be setting up my audio studio!
